There have been several efforts by antismoking groups to educate users of traditional cigarettes. They have implemented laws that heavily tax users of traditional cigarette products and several scare tactics have also been implemented. Despite all this, millions of people are still smoking. Each year in the United States there are more than 400,000 deaths because of smoking.

Electronic Cigarette Ban
Such statistics are quite shocking, and you would believe products like the electronic cigarette, which offer a healthy alternative, would be more than welcome. This is not the case however, as electronic cigarettes are under attack all across the country and all across the world.
The reason why electronic cigarettes are so innovative is because they mimic the look, feel and taste of traditional cigarettes. They are able to give users the nicotine fix they need without giving them a shot of several thousand harmful chemicals. These chemicals lead to all sorts of cancers, and other health risks not only to them but to those around them.
Bans on the electronic cigarette do not make sense because if they were actively touted, it could save thousands of lives each year. The problem is that antismoking groups do not feel this way, and they are desperately trying to have the products banned overall without having the evidence to support them being dangerous.
One of the arguments made by anti-smoking groups is that nicotine by itself is harmful, but that is not the case. Several natural foods contain nicotine. The real danger in traditional cigarettes would be the many chemicals contained in them that are all toxic.
There are other unrealistic claims about the electronic cigarette are made, such as a user might overdose on nicotine. But there is no evidence to back up such an outrageous claim.
The real fear by anti-smoking groups concerning the electronic cigarette revolves around them becoming too popular. If the product is touted as being safe, then the fear is people will use them a little bit too freely.
The thing is, users of conventional cigarettes are putting themselves in far more danger. There doesn’t seem to be as much aggression against large tobacco companies as there seems to be towards producers of electronic cigarettes these days. The reality is for those people who use conventional cigarettes; if they are going to smoke they might as well do so using a far safer option.
