Electronic cigarettes are meant to be healthier for people to use then traditional cigarettes. This is one of the primary reasons why their use is becoming more prevalent and widespread.

However some states do not feel that being a healthy alternative means all that much to people around them who do not smoke. MARC, which is a regional rail provider, is taking steps to ban them from use while riding the rail.

Right now several passengers who utilize MARC are not aware that electronic cigarettes are not permitted on board of the train service. However, the rail service is taking extra steps to ensure everyone is aware of the new policies. People are already aware of the smoking bans for traditional products, but not electronic cigarettes.

The Food and Drug Administration has been against the use of electronic cigarettes from day one. The Food and Drug Administration has discouraged their use, and now regional rail providers such as MARC are seeing that some riders are not comfortable with it either.

The purpose of electronic cigarettes is to make them exempt from smoking rules that prevent people from smoking in bars, restaurants and working environments. Bans such as the one MARC are imposing are being seen all across the country.

These bans are very discouraging for those who see electronic cigarettes as a healthy alternative. I guess it all boils down to asking the simple question of whether or not you would be offended to see someone using an electronic cigarettes sitting next to you, primarily if you didn’t smoke at all.

These bans will continue to prop up all across the country, and as this happens you will see more outcries from those who are strong supporters of the electronic cigarettes.
